Software Developer Intern @ RBC Capital Markets
As a software developer intern, I am under RBCCM's Quantitative &
Technology Services (QTS) Digital Channels group. I started my term
in May 2023 and my current tech stack consists of HTML, CSS,
JavaScript as well as Bootstrap and Jquery. I work with RBC Capital
Markets' intranet sites as well as
rbccm.com. With 60,000+ monthly visitors on intranet sites and 500,000+
monthly visitors on
rbccm.com, I created and published high quality articles, pushed out RBC
Investor & Treasury Services rebrand (rbcis.com), and much more.

Battlesnake is a multi-player programming game where teams build virtual snakes to face off in a tournament style arena. This tournament connected me with other RBC students, as well as hands on experience with languages such as Python.
Tasked with solving a real world problem that RBC faces, specifically in the Tech and Operations sector. Worked in a team of 6 to create a practical solution that can be adopted, allowing for centralization and optimization while mainting compliance and reducing risks.
The game consists of both the buy side and the sell
side, where each team convinces people on the buy side
to invest in the stock being presented.
Each team chooses a stock that fits under a given theme
each round (ie. industry, geography, technology), with a
total of 4 rounds. Every time someone chooses to invest
in a team's stock, each member receives commision, which
is added to their return on investment to determine a
winner.
As a group lead, I helped students ranging from grades 6-8 learn how to code. The camp taught the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript and allowed a hands-on experience by encorporating engaging projects.
What an incredible experience! I volunteered as a marshal at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open where I dedicated 32+ hours over a four day period to ensuring the safety and timely execution of the tournament. Stationed at hole 12, working both the tee box and the green it was critical to ensure proper communication with my peers to safely close off areas and settle the crowd when the players were present. Overall, it was a blast to watch the pros play (and occasionally dodge a stray ball during the pro-am tournament). Watching Nick Taylor's 72 feet eagle putt for the win in person was an electric feeling as the crowd at the RBC Open is unlike any other.
